One of the reason of this error is a well-known concern with the Immediate Reorganize efficacy spread on certain Lenovo laptops. Symantec endorses not to install Norton products on Lenovo laptops with Immediate Reorganize utility. If you are meeting this error on a computer other than Lenovo laptop with Instantaneous Reorganize, follow the points in the article. 

It can be resolved by rebooting the computer in most of the cases. If the error continues even after you reboot the system, you need to uninstall and reinstall your Norton product. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your product.

Step 1  

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool 

If you have pc Anywhere or WinFax, uninstall it using Add or Remove Programs before running the Norton Removal Tool. Also, if you use ACT! or WinFax, support those files and make certain that you have the installation CDs to reinstall the product.  

·          Download the Norton Removal Tool          
           Save Downloaded Norton Removal Tool file on your computer’s desktop. 

           On the computer’s desktop, double-click on the Norton Removal Tool icon.    

·          Keep an eye on guidelines. 

  

·          Reboot your computer. 

           Keep an eye on guidelines to reinstall your Norton product after the system reboots . 

           If the problem continues, repeat this process again.

Step 2 

        

•     Save Downloaded Norton Removal Tool file on your computer’s desktop.  

•     Double-click on the NPE.exe file to run Norton Power Eraser, 

  

•     Click Yes or Continue If the User Account Control window looks. 

•     Read the license agreement, and click Accept. 

•     In the Norton Power Eraser window, click the Scan for Risks icon.  

•       Norton Power Eraser does a Rootkit scan and needs a system reboot. Click on Restart 

•     When you see a prompt to   reboot the computer, If you do not want to contain the                       Rootkit scan, go to Settings, and uncheck the option Include Rootkit scan (requires a                   computer restart). 

•  The scan starts automatically after the computer is rebooted. Keep an eye on guidelines.
